Amer fort is a wonderful place to visit in Rajasthan. It is situated in Amer, which is 11 kilometres away from Jaipur. It is the nearest place to the international airport of Rajasthan which is also located in Jaipur. It is considered to be a major tourist attraction and is located on the hill top. The architecture of Amer fort is amazing and conveys the masterclass of ancient Indian architecture and design. It has four levels each with a courtyard and was constructed by red sandstones and marbles. There are two major portions of Amer fort. One is known as the diwan-e-Aam and the other is known as diwan-e-khaas. The latter mean the hall for private audience and the other one means the hall for public audience. There is another most famous parr of Amer fort known as the Sheesh Mahal. It is situated in Amer and that is why it is known as Amer Fort. Amer fort is also known as Amber fort. It consists of many gates but the main entrance is the most important and is known as Suraj Pol which means Sun gate. All the visitors and tourists are allowed to enter the fort through this gate.
